What is an Affiliated School?
An affiliated school is an educational institution that has been
officially recognized by the Tamil Nadu State Board of School
Examinations to follow the prescribed syllabus and academic
guidelines of the Board. These schools are authorized to enroll
students for Secondary (Class X) and Higher Secondary (Class XII)
courses and prepare them for the Board examinations conducted by
the Tamil Nadu State Board.
Affiliated schools operate under the academic regulations of the
Board and must maintain the required standards of teaching,
infrastructure, and administration. The Board regularly monitors
affiliated institutions to ensure that quality education and
examination integrity are maintained across the state.
Responsibilities of Affiliated Schools
Academic Responsibilities
- Follow the syllabus and curriculum prescribed by the Tamil Nadu State Board.
- Ensure qualified teachers are appointed for all subjects.

Once approved, the institution receives official affiliation status
and is permitted to offer courses under the Tamil Nadu State Board
